Week One: I AM, Color Wheels, and Sketchbooks
Week One's main objective is to create a sketchbook for the remainder of the course. The cover of the sketchbook will be themed "I AM" and will also have a color wheel in the back ground.
Monday: First, write an "I AM" poem to get your brain working. This can be found below.. Next, follow the instructions on the handout to create your color wheel collage. You will need: a glue stick, half sheet of drawing paper, ruler, pencil, scissors and magazines.
Once your collage is finished, trace a powerade cap to create a perfect circle and write "I AM" in bold letters. Cut out and glue to the middle of your collage. Next, you will type up a list of words for completing the "I AM" statement. Refer back to your poem if you need some help! You will print out this list of words/statements to glue down on top of your collage in a radiating fashion. Your words may be in different sizes and fonts, but remember not to go too big- you don't want to cover up your collage completely.
A finished cover looks like this:

When the cover is complete, I will laminate it. Make sure to follow instructions on how to make your back cover. While you are waiting for that- create your signatures. Grab 25 sheets of computer paper and fold it in half. Put five sheets together to create 5 groups of 5 sheets.
On one of the folded pages, create your cover page. You may decorate this page however you want, but it must include the following:
Your name

On the back of this page, create your table of contents. It should look like this:
